Samsung Z500: among the smallest and the strongest.

Touted as 'the world's smallest 3G mobile' by its maker, the Samsung Z500 sure packs a lot of punch in its small casing. The clamshell is quite compact and very well made specially the robust hinge mechanism. The body texture has a nice feel and the phone looks very stylish in its black and chrome design. Three separated key columns are less prone to wrong press and makes navigation easy on the intuitive user interface.

The internal display of the Samsung Z500 is TFT based and delivers more than 262k accurate colours. The external OLED display can also be used as viewfinder while operating the camera when the phone is 'closed'. The handset is surprisingly light at 95 gm considering it is a 3G phone. The Samsung Z500 is endowed with a megapixel camera to freeze any moment you like in high resolution pictures. Evolved video capabilities lets the camera capture footage in popular MPEG4 format. The Samsung Z500 includes a secondary VGA camera for making and receiving video calls within UMTS network.

The built in media player of the mobile phone supports MP3, AAC, ACC+ audio formats. Video playback of Real One, H.263 and MPEG4 files is possible too. The Samsung Z500 has about 50 Mb of user memory which isn't tiny but not huge either. Fortunately, there is a slot for expandable memory that can support high capacity memory cards.Other than UMTS, the Samsung Z500 supports triband GSM network across five continents. You can achieve download speed as high as 384 kbps in 3G network or even resort to slower GPRS. Remote and local connectivity through Bluetooth1.2, Infrared and USB makes data transfer and synchronization a matter of seconds.

The Samsung Z500 has enough firepower up its kitty to engage any 3G phone. The size and design is just an added advantage.
